Vanishing Landmarks

in the American Legion Room, Chatfield Center for the Arts

 Travel back roads and small towns with photographer Doug Ohman as he explores the stories and history of Minnesota through historic buildings that are quickly disappearing.  Doug will share his experiences, photos, and information about a variety of sites from Minnesota’s oldest Courthouse to the last Civil War recruiting station. 

 Doug Ohman is a freelance photographer and popular public speaker, who has traveled throughout the upper Midwest photographing historic architecture.  His work has been widely published in magazines, calendars and books.  Over the past seven years he has been working with the Minnesota Historical Society on the popular book series, “Minnesota Byways.”  Books will be available for purchase and signing at the program.

This program is brought to you by the Chatfield Public Library, along with the Friends of the Library & the Chatfield Center for the Arts Committee.  It is free and all are welcome.  Refreshments will be served.  Doug’s programs are always so enjoyable!  Please join us!

Parts one and two of the final Harry Potter movie were shown on the big screen in the basement program room. 

Those who attended not only enjoyed 2 good movies but also delicious Potter themed treats!

Eric was in the Reading Room of the library on Thursday, January 12 to sell and autograph his book: AN ANGELIC CATCH.

Eric happily provided tips and impromptu drawing lessons to anyone interested, making it an especially fun visit for young aspiring artists and authors.

 Come see Parts 1 & 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows at the library on Thurs., Dec. 29th beginning at 4pm!

Both movies are rated PG-13 and include graphic scenes and violence. All ages are welcome (adult Harry Potter fans, too!), but anyone under 13 must have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. Pick up a consent form at the library ahead of time or get one and have a parent sign when you come for the movie.

The movie will take place in the basement meeting room and your favorite Potter-themed treats, such as Cockroach Clusters and chocolate frogs will be served!

Bring your friends and come enjoy this final chapter in the Harry Potter saga on the big screen at the library!
